Being the gateway to the future Greater Southern Waterfront district, MUSIC-COSM aims to be an art ecosystem consisting of a transformative performance arena, conservatory and lifestyle hub specifically targeted to the more underground music scene. With a direct link to the nearby Gillman Barracks, this project will transform the area into a multi-disciplinary and seamless art district for the new frontier of Singapore’s development.
The indie subculture is not just characterised by its music, but by the DIY spirit behind their musicians, and the associated activities enthusiasts engage within the whole culture. These qualities are reflected in the varying intimate and large scale performance spaces, the conservatory serving as a launchpad for the future of the local music scene, and the various unique commercial options, which all inhabit this industrial building in symbiosis with one another to form a true microcosm.

ART BOULEVARD
The nearby Gillman Barracks presents an opportunity for connection to the site in order to create a larger critical mass of art activities for the Greater Southern Waterfront. The creation of the Art Boulevard not only creates this connection, but draws people into the district and creates new spaces unavailable in Gillman Barracks.
The project provides a variety of performance spaces, ranging from small and intimate to the large main stage, each catering to a different performance experience. The main stage is also capable of adapting to its required needs by expanding or contracting its capacity.
